What type of web browsers are compatible with Internet Banking?

It is recommend that you use either Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater, Firefox 1.0 or greater, or Safari on the Macintosh to access internet banking.

Is internet banking secure?

Banking with us is secure. In fact, Internet transactions are actually more secure than most credit card transactions. When you do your banking online, you're not actually transacting over the Internet in the way you might have imagined. You're actually conducting your financial business over a secured server using encrypted transmissions. So, the information you send and receive to and from ebank is not available on the Internet in a form that can be read.

Your data is encrypted (or "scrambled") by Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL, which is the Internet's encryption security protocol standard. And we have two more built-in safeguards at either end of the process:

  1. Only you can access your account information and funds, because only you know your Access ID and Privacy Password. None of them are stored on the web server or Internet banking server.
  2. Our ebanking systems function behind a “firewall” of software and hardware which prevents any unauthorized entry. All Internet servers are located at a secure site, where access is restricted to key-card holders and where security camera monitoring is in place.

What is Check 21?

Check 21 is a federal law that is designed to enable banks to handle more checks electronically, which should make check processing faster and more efficient. Instead of physically moving paper checks from one bank to another, Check 21 will allow banks to capture a picture of the front and back of the check along with the associated payment information and transmit this information electronically. If a receiving bank or its customer requires a paper check, the bank can use the electronic picture and payment information to create a paper “substitute check.” This process enables banks to reduce the cost of physically handling and transporting original paper checks, which can be very expensive. Check 21 became effective on October 28, 2004. For more information, click here.
